Khandaker Tanvir Murad is the Head of the Department of Photography at Pathshala South Asian Media Institute. He holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Anthropology from Jahangirnagar University.

Murad began his professional career at Drik Picture Library Ltd., where he worked as Coordinator of Gallery and Exhibitions, specializing in the design and implementation of diverse curatorial projects. His academic and professional interests encompass contemporary art, society, culture, and religion, which continue to inform both his teaching and research.

In 2012, he completed a Training of Trainers (ToT) in Photography Education organized by World Press Photo in Amsterdam, which enhanced his pedagogical expertise in visual literacy and photographic practice. In 2019, he was awarded the Charles Wallace Professional Visits Programme (UK), where he focused on the development and implementation of academic curricula for educational programmes in photography and visual studies.

Through his academic work, curatorial projects, and leadership in photography education, Murad has made significant contributions to advancing visual culture and contemporary photographic practice in Bangladesh and beyond.
